Left/Right groin abscess … x … cm
PROCEDURE:
Femoral artery palpated; confirmed abscess well away from it
Pus sent for C&S
Deroofing of abscess cavity with removal of unhealthy skin
Pus evacuated – Curettage
Hemostasis
Wash with saline
Packed with SorBact/Sorbsan
CLOSURE:
Dressings applied
POST OPERATIVE INSTRUCTIONS:
Observations Q4H
Post op bloods tomorrow
Diet: Eat and Drink as tolerated
LMWH at 18:00 hours
Alternate day dressings; starting day after tomorrow
